How D1 Arena Works

D1 Arena brings esports tournaments, live streaming, VODs and clips, creator support, teams, and community communication together in one platform. Creators can stream and build a community independently, while players, organizers and shoutcasters can combine these tools around competitive events. Advertisers manage campaigns through a separate advertiser account.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Getting started is easy and free:

  • Click "Sign Up" and enter your details
  • Verify your email address
  • Complete your player profile
  • Add your gaming information and connect social accounts

Step 2: Browse Tournaments

Explore our tournament listings to find competitions that match your skill level and interests:

  • Filter by game, format, prize pool, and schedule
  • View tournament rules and requirements
  • Check entry fees and prize distributions
  • See registered participants and brackets

Step 3: Join and Compete

Once you find a tournament:

  • Click "Join Now" to join (solo or with your team)
  • Confirm your participation before the deadline
  • Check in when the tournament begins
  • Play your matches and report results

Step 4: Win and Get Rewarded

Successful competitors receive prizes:

  • Prize pools are distributed based on tournament placement
  • Winnings are credited to your D1 Arena wallet
  • Request payouts through our secure payment system
  • Open Hub → Monetization and choose Wallet or Statement to review your earnings.

Team Competition

For team-based tournaments:

  • Open Hub → Teams to create a team or select a roster. Select a team to enter Team HQ. Authorized owners, admins and managers use Manage for members and join requests; invitations appear under Invites and require the invited player’s acceptance. Use Team HQ for team communication.
  • Team captains register the team for tournaments
  • Coordinate with teammates for match times
  • Prizes are distributed to team members as specified

Live Streaming Setup

D1 Arena supports multiple streaming protocols. Your server URL and stream key are available in your Hub → Studio → Ingest.

Option 1: RTMP Streaming (All Tiers)

RTMP is the broadest-compatibility ingest option and works with common broadcasting software. Starter and PRO accounts may stream up to 720p, Ultimate up to 1080p, and Partner up to 2160p.

  1. Open your Hub → Studio → Ingest
  2. Copy your RTMP Server URL and Stream Key
  3. Open your broadcasting software and choose a custom service
  4. Paste the server URL and stream key
  5. Start streaming

Option 2: SRT Streaming (PRO, Ultimate & Partner)

SRT can provide lower-latency, reliable ingest over unstable connections. It is available to PRO accounts up to 720p, Ultimate up to 1080p, and Partner up to 2160p.

  1. Open your Hub → Studio → Ingest
  2. Copy your SRT URL, which includes your stream key
  3. Open your broadcasting software and choose a custom service
  4. Paste the SRT URL
  5. Start streaming

Note: Starter accounts cannot publish over SRT.

Option 3: WHIP/Browser Streaming (Ultimate & Partner)

WHIP supports browser or compatible broadcaster ingest for Ultimate accounts up to 1080p and Partner accounts up to 2160p.

  1. Open your Hub → Studio → Ingest
  2. Choose the available WHIP or browser publishing option
  3. Allow camera and microphone access when browser publishing requires it
  4. Start streaming

Compatible viewers attempt WHEP playback first and fall back to HLS when needed. Starter and PRO accounts cannot publish over WHIP.

Support Your Favorite Streamers

Show appreciation for creators through tips:

  • Send tips to individual streamers on their profile or stream page
  • Tip entire teams - split equally among live members
  • Add optional messages to your tips
  • Choose to tip anonymously if you prefer
  • Streamers receive tips directly in their wallet

Earning as a Streamer

Multiple ways to monetize your content:

  • Tips and Supporter Subscriptions: For creator tips and supporter subscriptions, the product share before processing is 75% on Starter, 82% on PRO, 90% on Ultimate and 95% on Partner. Processing components are separate, so these percentages are not final creator deposits. Review the transaction’s fee breakdown for the amount allocated to the creator.
  • Supporter Subscriptions: Fans can subscribe monthly ($4.99/$9.99/$24.99) to support you
  • Tournament Winnings: Compete and earn prize money

Revenue by Membership Tier

Tier Supporter Subs/Tips Tournament Fee Ad-Free Viewing
Starter (Free) 75% before processing 11.4% No
PRO ($14.99/mo) 82% before processing 9.4% No
Ultimate ($29.99/mo) 90% before processing 8.4% Yes
Partner (Invite-Only) 95% before processing 7.4% Yes

Tournament percentages include the configured 5.4% processing component. Advertising revenue is retained by D1 Arena and is not included in creator revenue shares.

Tournament Match Streaming

D1 Arena automatically handles tournament streaming - no extra setup required!

How It Works

  1. Join a Tournament: Sign up for any tournament as a solo player or team
  2. Go Live During Your Match: When the tournament starts, simply stream to your normal D1 Arena stream key
  3. Auto-Detection: The system automatically detects your stream and links it to your tournament match
  4. VOD Created: When you end your stream, a VOD is automatically created and linked to your match

Bracket Integration

  • Viewers can click on any match in the bracket to watch live streams
  • After matches end, VOD replays are available directly from the bracket
  • Team tournaments show any streaming team member
  • No external links needed - everything stays on D1 Arena

Note: You do not need to provide any stream URLs. The system uses your D1 Arena stream key to automatically detect and link your tournament streams.

D1 Cred (Channel Points)

Earn and spend channel points while watching your favorite streamers:

How to Earn D1 Cred

  • Watch Streams: Earn points automatically while watching live streams (heartbeat tracking)
  • Chat Activity: Active chatters earn bonus points
  • Following: Follow a channel to earn a one-time bonus

How to Spend D1 Cred

  • Leaderboards: Track your ranking on each channel

D1 Cred has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

D1 Frenzy (Stream Hype Bar)

D1 Frenzy is the live hype meter that powers up while a streamer is live:

  1. Watch a live stream and send a tip or subscribe to the channel
  2. Your contribution automatically counts toward the active Frenzy session
  3. The Frenzy meter advances through five levels with on-stream celebrations and a contributor count
  4. A countdown timer shows how long viewers have to push the hype to the next level

Frenzy contributions follow the standard tip and subscription rules — the meter is purely a hype layer, not a separate purchase.

Gift Subscriptions

Send a Supporter Subscription as a targeted gift to a specific D1 Arena user:

  1. Visit the recipient's profile or send the gift from a streamer's subscribe modal
  2. Pick the tier (Tier 1 $4.99, Tier 2 $9.99, or Tier 3 $24.99)
  3. Choose the recipient (gifts are not distributed randomly)
  4. Complete payment via Stripe
  5. The recipient is notified and the streamer's revenue split is applied just like a regular subscription

Gift subscriptions are non-refundable once delivered to the recipient.

AI-Powered Features

D1 Arena uses AI to enhance your experience:

  • AI Support Chatbot: Get instant answers to platform questions (available to all members)
  • Game Detection: AI automatically identifies what game you're streaming and sets your category
  • Content Generation: Generate clip titles, stream titles, bios, and more with AI assistance
  • Streaming Troubleshooter: AI diagnoses stream quality issues and suggests fixes

Account Lifecycle

Full control over your account:

  • Deactivate: Temporarily disable your account (data retained for 30 days)
  • Reactivate: Verify your identity via OTP to reactivate
  • Delete: Account deletion follows a 30-day grace period. D1 then removes or de-identifies personal data subject to the retention exceptions in the Privacy Policy, including applicable payment, dispute, security and legal records. Deleting a D1 account does not automatically delete records held by service providers.
  • Security Sessions: View and manage all active login sessions

Security & Authentication

You can choose one active two-factor authentication method: an authenticator app, SMS or email. Recovery codes provide a backup. Website passkeys are a separate sign-in option; manage available security settings in Hub → Account → Security.

Passkeys (Strongest, Phishing-Resistant)

  1. Go to Hub → Account → Security
  2. Click "Register a Passkey"
  3. Follow your device's prompt — Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or insert your hardware key
  4. Give the passkey a label (e.g. "iPhone 15", "Work Laptop", "YubiKey 5")
  5. On future logins, click "Sign in with a passkey" instead of typing your password

Passkeys work on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Windows 10 and newer, Chromebook, and hardware keys like YubiKey. Register one per device for convenience and resilience — if you lose one device, another still works.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Go to Hub → Account → Security → Two-Factor Authentication
  2. Choose Authenticator App (recommended), Email Code, or SMS Code
  3. For Authenticator App: scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or similar
  4. Enter the 6-digit code to verify
  5. Save your recovery codes somewhere safe — they're the only way back in if you lose your device

Security Sessions

Go to Hub → Account → Security → Active Sessions to see every device currently signed in to your account. If you see something you don't recognise, click "Revoke" to log that device out immediately. You'll also get an email alert whenever a new device signs in, so suspicious activity is caught fast.

D1-Native Viewer-Side Overlays

D1 Arena no longer uses the old streamer-side overlay workflow. RTMP broadcasting software is still valid for ingest, but alerts and engagement overlays now render inside the D1 player for each viewer.

  1. Go to Hub → Channel → Overlays
  2. Use the unified 16:9 preview to enable and position viewer alerts, goal bar, polls/predictions, reward banner, D1 Frenzy, and chat TTS
  3. Save the layout; viewers see the overlays on D1 Arena watch pages in their own locale
  4. Use Hub → Channel → TTS for detailed Chat TTS voice, filter, and trigger settings

Why this changed: Streamer-side overlays burn one language into the stream. Viewer-side overlays let D1 Arena localize alerts, polls, reward banners, and TTS per viewer without external widget platforms.

Team HQ

Authorized team members use Team HQ for text channels plus native voice, camera, and screen sharing. Access is authenticated and controlled by team membership, verification, and channel permissions.

Watch Parties

Create a Watch Party from a D1 Arena VOD. Guests can open the shared page to watch; signed-in participants can chat. The host controls synchronized playback and chooses whether native D1 voice is off, friends-only, or open to all signed-in participants. Voice participants can use camera and screen sharing.

Friend Calls

Accepted D1 friends can exchange direct messages and use voice, video and screen sharing. Conversations with multiple friends support up to 10 eligible participants. Calls start one-to-one and can include up to 10 eligible friends. Friendship, blocking and age controls apply between participants; following an account alone does not grant messaging or calling access. These conversations are separate from Teams, which have their own rosters and Team HQ.

Official Cast

\n

Approved tournament casters publish through D1 Arena using supported ingest paths. The cast is delivered through the normal D1 playback and automatic VOD pipeline. A native server-side multi-caster audio mixer is not currently implemented.

Merch Store

Physical print-on-demand checkout and automatic order submission to Printful are currently unavailable. For an existing purchase, open Purchases in the Hub or contact Support. Existing orders, refunds and disputes remain subject to the applicable purchase terms and Refund Policy.

Content ID

VODs and clips can be scanned with AcoustID-based audio fingerprinting. Matches surface in the copyright dashboard so streamers can respond to claims.

Game discovery uses D1’s Steam-fed catalog (RAWG residual only).

Selected public clips and Clip of the Week winners may be shared on D1-operated social channels; details are in the Privacy Policy.
