Hey there! 🎮 I'm Rekinu – or just Rek to my friends – and I'm the founder of D1 Arena.
I'm a husband, a proud dad of four amazing kids (two boys and two girls), and a lifelong gamer with 27+ years of experience under my belt. My family is everything to me, and D1 Arena is the dream I've been chasing in every spare hour I've got. It's a weird balance between being Dad, being a husband, and being the guy losing sleep over a tournament bracket bug at 2 AM – but it's mine, and I wouldn't trade it.
How D1 Arena started
D1 Arena wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born out of years of frustration running and playing in competitive gaming events that just didn't work right. Clunky brackets. Payouts that took forever. Support tickets that went into a black hole. Tools that felt glued together instead of built together. I kept thinking: "Why isn't there one place where you can host a tournament, stream it live, chat with your community, build a team, and get tipped by your viewers – without wiring up five different services?"
So I started building it. Not by myself – I've had amazing people in the community believing in this along the way – but I was the one staying up late, obsessing over every detail, every workflow, every payout. Every feature you see on this platform exists because someone (often me) hit that exact pain point somewhere else and said "this should just work."
Where D1 Arena is today
D1 develops and operates its core platform and integrates specialist services for capabilities such as payments, identity verification, communications delivery, translation and AI assistance. The Privacy Policy describes the service providers used for applicable features.
D1 uses automated moderation assistance and human review tools across supported content and safety workflows. Users can report content and use the available appeal and support processes. These tools do not guarantee that every violation is detected or reviewed before publication.
The D1 wallet records eligible earnings, tournament refunds or prizes, adjustments and payout activity. It is not a general-purpose deposit or add-funds account. Available money features depend on account eligibility and the applicable payment workflow.
D1’s player website offers 45 language choices. Live, team and tournament chat support automatic translation, with an option to view the original message. We continue developing D1’s tournament, streaming, community and support tools.
Where we're going
The mission hasn't changed one bit. D1 Arena is going to be the home for competitive gaming – from the backyard skirmish to the weekend open tournament to the stacked sponsored event. Streaming, competing, communicating, monetizing – one platform, built for players, by a player.
D1’s current platform brings competition, creator streaming and community tools together on the web. Native applications remain in development. A separate original Unreal world and Expo experience is also in development; connected accounts, inventory, rewards and multiplayer are not yet a released platform feature.
Individual creator-store expansion is being deprioritized. Future plans include D1-owned branded merchandise and original digital game/world assets. Membership-linked digital benefits remain in planning; specific benefits and entitlement terms have not been announced.
Outside D1
When I'm not online, you'll probably find me rolling around Houston with my Video Game Truck 🚛🎮. I bring all the latest consoles, all the games, and the party to birthdays, events, and anywhere folks want an excuse to game with friends. It keeps me grounded and it's a good reminder that at the end of the day, gaming is supposed to be fun.
